| Seaborn Jones, Tax Collector | It is ordered by the Court that when Seaborn Jones, Tax Collector, shall present his lists of errors and insolvencies for the tax year 1879, it is hereby ordered that H. J. Callen, Judge of Probate, be and he is hereby authorized to receive and examine said lists and, if found to be correct, to receive the same and allow said Tax Collector credit for the amount thereof. |
| Voting place of Beat No. 2 | Whereas application has been made to the Court to change the voting place of Beat No. 2 from Providence Church to Clear Creek in Chilton County; and it appearing to the Court that notice of said application has been given for the time prescribed by law, it is therefore ordered by the Court that the voting place of Beat No. 2, to-wit, Providence Church, be changed from its present location to Clear Creek in said County. It is further ordered that said voting place shall be known and called Clear Creek. It is further ordered that all elections to be held, whether special or general, that the voting place of Beat No. 2 shall be at Clear Creek and Jamison in said Beat. |
| Seaborn Jones - tax errors/insolvencies | Seaborn Jones, Tax Collector of said County, now presents to the Court a list of errors and insolvencies for the tax year 1879 as follows: Insolvencies on property, State, $8.96; Errors on property, State, $6.45; Insolvencies on poll tax, $244.50; Errors on poll tax, $96.50; and it appearing to the Court that the same is correct as returned by said Tax Collector, it is therefore ordered by the Court that the same be and is hereby allowed and that the Tax Collector be entitled to credit therefor [amounts and county columns partly obscured]. |

| In memory of James C. Gardner | IN MEMORY OF JAMES C. GARDNER. The State of Alabama, Chilton County. Commissioners Court, Regular Term, July 12th 1880. |
| Resolution | Whereas, it hath pleased God to call from our midst by death James C. Gardner, on the 30th day of June 1880, who was a member of this Court. Therefore be it resolved, 1st, That we have heard with profound sorrow of the death of the late James C. Gardner, late member of this Court. |
| Resolution | Resolved, 2nd, That in his death the County has lost a faithful officer, and one amongst its most useful, faithful, public-hearted, patriotic citizens, and one that filled the trusts committed to his care by his constituency faithfully, fearlessly, but in all things he acted justly, in every sentiment only having in view to know his duty, and perform it. |
| Resolution | Resolved, 3rd, That a copy of these resolutions be spread on the minutes of this Court on a page inscribed to his memory, and that the Judge of this Court furnish a copy of these resolutions to the family of the late James C. Gardner. |
