| Whereas application in writing having been made to the Court to establish a public road to extend from range line road, leaving it between the 23 and 24 mile post, and intersecting the New Market road between the 23rd and 25 mile post on said road, and it being made to appear to the Court that said proposed road is within the limits of said County and that notice of said application has in all respects been given as required by law. It is therefore ordered by the Court that John E. Gandy, L. Martin, Henry Cole, James Mitchell, William Parnell, D. Martin, Thomas Letchen be and they are hereby appointed a Jury of review to view and mark out said proposed new road, and that they have notice of their appointment and that they report their action in the premises to the next term of this Court. | |
| Whereas at a Regular Term of this Court held on the 9th day of August A.D. 1880 an order was made and entered in the premises to establish a new road leading from a certain point one mile south of the gate of Joe Price on the Adams Ferry & Verbena road, running in a western direction to again intersect the Adams Ferry Road at or near Goose Pond Creek near the Town of Clanton. And whereas at the term of said Court the following named persons were appointed a Jury of review viz: V. J. Gragg, J. M. Ternan, Moses Armstrong, George Mims, James Thacker, Ruben Popwell and E. H. Lowe Sr to view and mark out said proposed new road. And the said Jury of review having made their report as required by law, stating among other things that they met on the 10 day of September A.D. 1880, and after being sworn proceeded to view and mark out said road and further that said road will be of great utility to the traveling public. It is therefore ordered by the Court that said road be and the same are hereby established in accordance with the route viewed and marked out by said Jury of review. |
| George Mims / Overseer | It is further ordered by the Court that George Mims be and he is hereby appointed Overseer on said new road, that he is hereby required to open the same in the manner indicated by the blazes of said Jury of review, and that he keep the same in repair until his successor shall be appointed and commissioned, and that he have notice of this appointment and order of this Court. |
| Whereas at a Regular Term of this Court held on the 9th day of August A.D. 1880 an order was entered in the premises to establish a new road beginning at the Autauga County line near H. G. Lasiters and ending near J. B. Hardys, again intersecting the Kingston and Dixie Road between J. B. Hardys place & C. B. McDonalds. | |
| And whereas at said term of said Court the following named persons were appointed as a Jury of review to view and mark out said road, viz: P. M. Moore, W. L. Weaver, W. W. Green, Thomas Roberts and Crawford Klinner. And the said Jury of review having made their report as required by law, stating among other things that they met on the 1st day of September A.D. 1880 and after being sworn proceeded to view and mark out said proposed new road. | |
| It is therefore ordered by the Court that said road be and the same is hereby established in accordance with the route viewed and marked out by said Jury of review. It is further ordered by the Court that J. B. Hardy be and he is hereby appointed overseer on said road [struck-through wording follows] from fork near J. B. Hardy [end struck-through wording], which is hereby required to open the same in the manner indicated by the Jury of review, and that he keep the same in repair until his successor shall be appointed and commissioned, and that he have notice of this appointment and orders of this Court. |
| Order establishing road from Pages Ferry to Cane Creek Church | Whereas at a regular term of this Court held on the 9th day of August A.D. 1880 an order was entered in the premises to establish a new road leading from Pages Ferry on the Coosa River to intersect the Adams Ferry road at Cane Creek Church. And whereas, at said term of said Court the following named persons was appointed a Jury of review to view and mark out said proposed new road viz: James F. McKee, J. G. McKee, John Marcus, W. J. Mahan, C. W. Johnson, J. D. Johnson, and the said Jury of review having made their report as required by law, stating among other things that they met on the 11th day of September 1880 and after being sworn proceeded to view and mark out said proposed new road. It is therefore ordered by the Court that said road be and the same is hereby established in accordance with the route viewed and marked out by said Jury of review. It is further ordered by the Court that William Marcus Jr. be and he is hereby appointed overseer on said road, that he is hereby required to open the same in the manner indicated by the Jury of review, and that he keep the same in repair until his successor shall be appointed and commissioned, and that he have notice of this appointment and order of this Court. |

| The State of Alabama / Chilton County | Order for Special Term of Commissioners Court of Chilton County Be it known. That whereas at the present session of the General Assembly of the State of Alabama, an Act was passed entitled an Act to secure the humane treatment of prisoners. Approved December the 6th 1880. And whereas it is made the duty of the Judge of Probate by the provisions of said Act to call together the Court of County Commissioners for the purpose of making such appropriation of money as shall be necessary to carry the provisions of said Act into effect, and to appoint the time of such Meeting. Therefore I H. J. Callen, Judge of Probate for said County, hereby direct that a Special term of the Court of County Commissioners of said County be held to convene at the Court House of said County, on the 29th day of January A.D. 1881, for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of said Act above referred to. It is further ordered by me that notice of the holding of said special term of said Court be given by the Sheriff of said County by serving a written notice thereof on each member of said Court five days before the said 29th day of January 1881. The Court proceeded to transact the business for which it was called together, whereupon it is ordered by the Court that the sum of Five hundred and fifty Dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated for the purpose of heating and fixing up the Jail of said County in accordance with the Act entitled an Act to secure the humane treatment of prisoners approved Dec. 6th 1880. It is further ordered by the Court that on the completion of said work that the Judge of Probate is hereby authorized to draw a warrant on the County Treasurer for said amount appropriated. H. J.
