| The State of Alabama / Chilton County | Order for Special Term of Commissioners Court of Chilton County Be it known. That whereas at the present session of the General Assembly of the State of Alabama, an Act was passed entitled an Act to secure the humane treatment of prisoners. Approved December the 6th 1880. And whereas it is made the duty of the Judge of Probate by the provisions of said Act to call together the Court of County Commissioners for the purpose of making such appropriation of money as shall be necessary to carry the provisions of said Act into effect, and to appoint the time of such Meeting. Therefore I H. J. Callen, Judge of Probate for said County, hereby direct that a Special term of the Court of County Commissioners of said County be held to convene at the Court House of said County, on the 29th day of January A.D. 1881, for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of said Act above referred to. It is further ordered by me that notice of the holding of said special term of said Court be given by the Sheriff of said County by serving a written notice thereof on each member of said Court five days before the said 29th day of January 1881. | Notice | The State of Alabama } Commissioners Court Special Term Jan 29th 1881 Chilton County } Present Hon. H. J. Callen Judge of Probate, J. J. Honeycutt, R. C. Lenoir & K. Wells. The Court proceeded to transact the business for which it was called together, whereupon it is ordered by the Court that the sum of Five hundred and fifty Dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated for the purpose of heating and fixing up the Jail of said County in accordance with the Act entitled an Act to secure the humane treatment of prisoners approved Dec. 6th 1880. It is further ordered by the Court that on the completion of said work that the Judge of Probate is hereby authorized to draw a warrant on the County Treasurer for said amount appropriated. H. J.
