| New Road from Montgomery & Columbiana Road to Mims X Roads | Whereas at a Regular Term of this Court held on the 14th day of August 1882 an order was entered in the premises to establish a new road leading from A. M. Mullins on the Montgomery & Columbiana Road to Mims X Roads. And whereas at said Term of said Court the following named persons was appointed a Jury of View to view and mark out said proposed new road, viz: Elijah Mims, John H. Vines, W. R. Roberson, R. M. Aycock, and W. H. Marcus, and the said Jury of View having made their report as required by law, setting forth among other things that they met on the 10th day of October 1882 and after being sworn proceeded to view and mark out said proposed road. It is therefore ordered by the Court that said road be and the same is hereby established as follows: leaving the Montgomery & Columbiana Road near A. M. Mullins, thence by H. C. Young, thence by W. H. Marcus, thence by R. M. Aycock [continued on Page 139]. |
| New Road from Montgomery & Columbiana Road to Mims X Roads - continued | thence by J. J. Honeycutt, thence by W. R. Roberson, thence to Mims X Roads, putting the same on the nearest & best ground. It is further ordered by the Court that W. M. Aycock be appointed overseer in said new road; that he be required to open said new road in the manner indicated by said Jury of View and that he keep the same in repair until his successor is appointed and that he have notice of his appointment. |
| Dixie & New Market Road | Whereas at a Regular Term of this Court held on the 13th day of February 1882 an order was entered in the premises to establish a New Road to begin at Dixie and to run nearest with the New Market Road west of Dixie. And whereas at said Term of said Court the following named persons was appointed a Jury of View to view and mark out said proposed New Road, viz: W. B. Bearden, L. Bearden, Peter Haley, Thomas Smith, Leroy Flanagan, John Lovelady, and J. E. Callier. And the said Jury of View having made their report as required by law, setting forth among other things that they met on the 25th day of August 1882, and after being sworn proceeded to view and mark out said proposed new road. It is therefore ordered by the Court that said road be and the same is hereby established in accordance with the route viewed and marked out by said Jury of View. It is further ordered by the Court that Thomas Smith be appointed overseer on said new road to open the same in the manner indicated by said Jury of View and that he keep the same in repair until his successor is appointed and that he have notice of his appointment. |
| Macon & Knights Ferry Road | Whereas at a Regular Term of this Court held on the 14th day of August 1882 an order was entered in the premises to establish a new road leading from S. E. Marcus to the Knights Ferry Road. And whereas at said Term of said Court the following named persons was appointed a [entry continues after Page 139 / next batch]. |
| Jury of View to view and mark out said proposed new road | Jury of View to view and mark out said proposed new road, viz Wm S Johnson, Benjamin F. Gardner, John Gardner, S. S. Scott, L. E. Bland, Lewis Jones, and John I. Cook, and the said Jury of View having made their report as required by law, setting forth among other things that they met on the 23d day of September 1882, and after being sworn proceeded to view and mark out said proposed new road. It is therefore ordered by the Court that said road be and the same is hereby established in accordance with the route viewed and marked out by said Jury of View. It is further ordered by the Court that John I. Cook be appointed overseer on said new road to open the same in the manner indicated by said Jury of View and to keep the same in repair until his successor is appointed, and that he have notice of his appointment. |
| To change the Jamison & Clanton Road | Whereas at a Regular Term of this Court held on the 1st day of August 1882, an order was made and entered in the premises to change the Jamison and Clanton Road leading from the town of Jamison to Clanton in said County, and whereas at said Term of said Court the following named persons were appointed a Jury of View to view and mark out said proposed change, viz: A. J. Marlar, E. M. Bean, E. M. Attaway, J. F. Rogers, Joseph Burnett and J. W. Maddox, and the said Jury of View having made their report as required by law, setting forth among other things they met and after being sworn proceeded to view and mark out said proposed change. It is therefore ordered by the Court that said road be changed in accordance with the route viewed and marked out by said Jury of View. It is further ordered that the overseer now appointed on said road open said change in accordance with the route marked out by said Jury of View and that he have notice of said order. |
| Change to Lewis Ferry Road | Whereas at a regular term of this Court held on the 13th day of February A.D. 1882 an order was made and entered in the premises to change the Lewis Ferry Road. And whereas at said term of said Court the following named persons was appointed to view and mark out said proposed change, viz: Moses Roberson, John Roberson, Riley Roberson, Caleb Headley, Elijah Roberson and Isaih Gullahorn. And the said Jury having made their report as required by law, setting forth among other things that they met on the 12th day of August 1882 and after being sworn proceeded to view and mark out said proposed change. It is therefore ordered by the Court that said road be changed in the manner indicated by said Jury of View. It is further ordered that the overseer open said road as indicated by said Jury of View and that he have notice of the same. |
| To discontinue a portion of Montgomery and Montevallo Road | Whereas application having been made to the Court for an order to discontinue a portion of the Montevallo & Montgomery Road as follows, viz: from the place where the Littlejohn Road leaves said road to the place where the new public road known as the Bivings and Duke Road leaves said road. And it appearing to the Court that due and legal notice has been given in all respects as required by law, and that said road discontinued is no longer of any public utility, it is therefore ordered by the Court that the Montgomery and Montevallo Road be discontinued from where the Littlejohn Road leaves said road to where the new public road known as the Bivings & Duke road leaves said road. |
| To establish new road known as Duke & Biving Road | Whereas application in writing has been made to the Court for an order to establish a public road in said County leading from Henry Foshee’s place to run in a northerly direction and to intersect the Camp Ground Road at Cyrus Logans. | Duke & Biving Road — continued | And it having been made known to the Court that due and legal notice has in all respects been given as required by law. It is therefore ordered by the Court that the following named persons, viz: O. A. Duke, J. M. Bivings, Wm. Jones, Harry Hubbard, Jesse Auldrige, Wm. Brown, and Stephen Baker be and they are hereby appointed a Jury of View to view and mark out said road; that they be notified of their appointment and that they be required to report their action in the premises to the next term of this Court. |
| Jury to assess damages on the Woolley Road | Whereas application has been made to the Court by Wiley Ramsey for a Jury to assess damages resulting to land belonging to the said Wiley Ramsey by reason of the establishment of a public road known as the Woolley Road. It is therefore ordered by the Court that the following named persons, viz: J. D. McMath, J. F. Conoly, W. L. Campbell, B. F. Hammon, J. R. Rasberry, J. C. Sewell and John Milford be and they are hereby appointed a Jury to assess damages, if any, resulting to the lands of said Wiley Ramsey; that they have notice of their appointment and that they be required to report their action in the premises to the next term of this Court. |
| Bridge across Swift Creek | It is ordered by the Court that K. Wells be and he is hereby authorized to let a bridge to be built across Swift Creek at what is known as the Dennis Ford and H. J. Callen draw his warrant on treasury for same. |
| H. R. Atchison, County Surveyor | It is ordered by the Court that H. R. Atchison be and he is hereby appointed County Surveyor, that he give bond in amount and within the time prescribed by law. |
