Regular Term August 13th 1883	State of Alabama, Chilton County. Commissioners Court Regular Term August 13th 1883. Present and presiding H. J. Callen, Judge of Probate; R. C. Lenoir, Buckner Harris and J. J. Honeycutt. The Court then proceeded to transact such business as was brought before it when the following orders were made and entered in the premises.
Lewis Burnett, J. G. Lepard, David Littlefield, Jake Walker, Matilda Carlile and Mary Roberson — $5.00 each	It is ordered by the Court that Lewis Burnett, J. G. Lepard, David Littlefield, Jake Walker, Matilda Carlile and Mary Roberson be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Five Dollars each for their support 3rd quarter 1883.
Lucinda Glasscock, James Edwards, Mary Lemaster, Walter Jones, Winney Culp, Margaret Murphy, C. M. Mills, Willie O’Neil — $6.00 each	It is ordered by the Court that Lucinda Glasscock, James Edwards, Mary Lemaster, Walter Jones, Winney Culp, Margaret Murphy, C. M. Mills and Willie O’Neil be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Six Dollars each for their support 3rd quarter 1883.
John Henley — $18.00	It is ordered by the Court that John Henley be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Eighteen Dollars for his support 3rd quarter 1883.
Mary Whalean, Mrs. Lee, Nancy Comer, James Andrews, W. B. J. Norris — $9.00 each	It is ordered by the Court that Mary Whalean, Mrs. Lee, Nancy Comer, James Andrews and W. B. J. Norris be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Nine Dollars each for their support 3rd quarter 1883.
E. & N. Norris — $15.00	It is ordered by the Court that E. & N. Norris be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Fifteen Dollars for their support 3rd quarter 1883.

Dock and Billy Armstrong — $15.00	It is ordered by the Court that Dock and Billy Armstrong be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Fifteen Dollars for their support 3rd quarter 1883.
Eliza Hall and William Lambert — $12.50 each	It is ordered by the Court that Eliza Hall and William Lambert be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Twelve 50/100 Dollars each for their support 3rd quarter 1883.
Joe Marcus — $10.00	It is ordered by the Court that Joe Marcus be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Ten Dollars for his support 3rd quarter 1883.
Richard Price — $1.50	It is ordered by the Court that Richard Price be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of One 50/100 Dollars for making mile post and sign boards and measuring roads of public road.
R. B. Price — $1.00	It is ordered by the Court that R. B. Price be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of One Dollar for making 2 sign boards for public road.
W. H. Burton — $5.90	It is ordered by the Court that W. H. Burton be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Five 90/100 Dollars for washing for prisoners in Jail.
L. B. Wells & Son — $5.32	It is ordered by the Court that L. B. Wells & Son be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Five & 32/100 Dollars for lumber furnished for use of County at Jail.
Isaac Lawhorn — $10.15	It is ordered by the Court that Isaac Lawhorn be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Ten & 15/100 Dollars for making inquest over the dead body of George Thacker and infant child of Isaac Warren.

Dr. J. J. Dawson — $18.00	It is ordered by the Court that Dr. J. J. Dawson be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Eighteen Dollars for services of physician in attending the inquest over the dead bodies of George Thacker and infant child of Isaam Warren.
Fed H. Cobb, J. Bice, J. R. Johnson, H. J. Estes, H. J. Atkinson, J. S. Collins, S. J. Heath — $2.00 each	It is ordered by the Court that Fed H. Cobb, J. Bice, J. R. Johnson, H. J. Estes, H. J. Atkinson, J. S. Collins and S. J. Heath be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Two Dollars each for services as jury of inquest over the dead body of George Thacker.
W. E. Lowery, Geo. Deramus, A. J. Manning, J. H. Hughes, J. O. Smith — $2.00 each	It is ordered by the Court that W. E. Lowery, Geo. Deramus, A. J. Manning, J. H. Hughes and J. O. Smith be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Two Dollars each for their services as jury of inquest over the dead body of the infant child of Isaam Warren.
D. C. Honeycutt — $3.00	It is ordered by the Court that D. C. Honeycutt be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Three Dollars for making mile post and sign boards for public road.
J. M. Parrish — $7.60	It is ordered by the Court that J. M. Parrish be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Seven & 60/100 Dollars for monies paid out by him as Treasurer for the County.
W. H. Foshee — $50.00	It is ordered by the Court that W. H. Foshee be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Fifty Dollars for Ex-officio service for 3rd quarter 1883.
Marshall & Bruce — $55.26	It is ordered by the Court that Marshall and Bruce be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Fifty-five & 26/100 Dollars for stationery furnished County officers.

E. J. Gullahorn — $2.25	It is ordered by the Court that E. J. Gullahorn be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Two & 25/100 Dollars for safe furnished to feed jury in the case of the State vs. [Goodgame].
Ise Gullahorn and Aelic Dickerson — 10 cts each	It is ordered by the Court that Ise Gullahorn and Aelic Dickerson be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Ten cents each for carry books from Depot to Court House.
Bivings & Duke & Co. — $16.00	It is ordered by the Court that Bivings & Duke & Co. be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Sixteen Dollars for lumber furnished for use of the County.
W. D. Brown & Co. — $18.10	It is ordered by the Court that W. D. Brown & Co. be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Eighteen & 10/100 Dollars for Tax Assessor books and stationery furnished for use of Tax Assessor.
A. B. Javel — $8.75	It is ordered by the Court that A. B. Javel be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Eight & 75/100 Dollars for stationery furnished for the use of the Register in Chancery.
K. Wells, R. C. Lenoir, J. J. Honeycutt — $7.20 each	It is ordered by the Court that K. Wells, R. C. Lenoir and J. J. Honeycutt be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Seven & 20/100 Dollars each for their services and mileage as members of the Court of County Commissioners, July and August Term 1883.
B. Harris — $9.60	It is ordered by the Court that B. Harris be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Nine & 60/100 Dollars for service and mileage as County Commissioner, July and August terms A.D. 1883.

J. H. Aldridge — $2.00	It is ordered by the Court that J. H. Aldridge be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Two Dollars for attending County Court one day as Sheriff.
County Tax rate for 1883	It is ordered by the Court that there shall be assessed and collected a tax of [3/10] of one percent for County purposes on all property, real and personal, assessed for the State for the tax year 1883 and no more. It is further ordered by the Court that the Judge of Probate be and he is hereby required to collect on all license issued under the revenue laws of this State the sum of one half of one percent on the amount charged by the State for said license for County purposes.
Jury of View for Clanton Road application	Whereas application in writing having been made to the Court for an order for a new road leading from Clanton to Wells Gin in said County to be known and called the Swift Creek & Clanton Road; and it appearing to the Court that due and legal notice has been given as required by law and that said proposed road runs through the County of Chilton and within the jurisdiction of this Court. It is therefore ordered that A. C. Pool, J. R. Kemp, A. C. Oats, J. W. Edwards, John Popwell, Benjamin Culpepper, and James Wyatt be and they are hereby appointed a Jury of View to view and mark out said proposed road and report their action thereon to the next term of this Court.
Callaway & Knight Ferry Road	Whereas application in writing having been made to the Court for an order for a new road leading from Johnathan Callaway’s to Knights Ferry Road, to be known as Callaway & Knight Ferry Road. And it appearing to the Court that due and legal notice has been given in all respects as required by law, and that said proposed road runs [continued on Page 163].

Callaway & Knight Ferry Road — continued	through the County of Chilton and within the jurisdiction of this Court, it is therefore ordered that John Callaway, John Taylor, Wm. Taylor, J. J. Mims, William Callaway, Jesse Driver and W. D. Goss be and they are hereby appointed a Jury of View to view and mark out said proposed new road and report their action in the premises to the next term of this Court.
Change in the Clanton Road & Randolph Road	Whereas application in writing having been made to the Court for an order to change the Clanton Road in the following manner, to wit: commencing at the bridge near James Rasberry’s, running by Busbys Mill and to intersect the old road again at Madison Rasberry’s. And it appearing to the Court that due and legal notice has been given in all respects as required by law, it is therefore ordered by the Court that B. J. Rasberry, Joel Barnett, D. H. Deavenport, Madison Rasberry, James Rasberry, M. C. Palmer and Ben Rasberry be and they are hereby appointed a Jury of View to view and mark out said proposed change and report their action thereon in the premises to the next term of this Court.
Change in the Knight Ferry & Verbena Road	Whereas application in writing having been made to the Court for an order to change the Knight Ferry & Verbena Road in the following manner, viz: commencing at or near Charles Williams, running north of E. E. Estes’ plantation and residence, intersecting said Knight Ferry & Verbena Road between the Warren Jones & Mary Williams place. And it appearing to the Court that due and legal notice has been given in all respects as required by law, it is therefore ordered by the Court that A. L. Patillo, J. J. Mims, W. S. Howard, W. J. Estes, Lem Mims, J. H. Norris and W. D. Goss be and they are hereby appointed a Jury of View to view and mark out said proposed change and report their action in the premises to the next term of this Court.

H. J. Callen — $72.50	It is ordered by the Court that H. J. Callen, Judge of Probate, be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Seventy Two & 50/100 Dollars for Ex-officio and Road service, 3rd quarter 1883.
H. J. Callen — $46.00	It is ordered by the Court that H. J. Callen, Judge of Probate, be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Forty Six Dollars for four days presiding over Commissioners Court and keeping minutes July & August Term 1883 and for trying ten cases in the County Court up to and including the case of the State vs. Bink County.
James E. Lowe — $82.90	It is ordered by the Court that James E. Lowe, Sheriff of said County, be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Eighty two & 90/100 Dollars for Ex-officio & Road service attendance in Chancery & County Court & for postage stamps, 3d quarter 1883.
Goose Pond Bridge	It is ordered by the Court that H. J. Callen be and he is hereby authorized to purchase lumber for the purpose of flooring the Goose Pond Bridge across Goose Pond Creek east of Clanton and to order a warrant on the County Treasurer for payment of the same.
