Regular Term November 5th 1883	The State of Alabama, Chilton County. Commissioners Court Regular Term November 5th 1883. Present and presiding H. J. Callen Judge of Probate; Commissioners present: K. Wells, J. J. Honeycutt, R. C. Lenoir, B. Harris. The Court then proceeded to transact such business as was brought before it when the following orders were made and entered in the premises.
H. J. Callen — $86.00	It is ordered by the Court that H. J. Callen, Judge of Probate, be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Eighty Six Dollars for seven cases in the County Court at $4.00 and one case at $2.00, one abstract for Auditor, supplies, lumber and hand labor, one abstract for Tax Collector, etc.
E. H. Lowe Jr. — $2.00	It is ordered by the Court that E. H. Lowe Jr. Jr. be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Two Dollars for making sign boards and mile posts for public road in said County.
J. M. Parish — $118.22	It is ordered by the Court that J. M. Parish be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of One hundred and eighteen & 22/100 Dollars for monies expended by him for the use of the County as follows: to freight paid on chairs for County $5.67; to money paid J. E. M. Daniel for work on bridge $5.00; to money paid Wells & Chandler for lumber for bridge $31.50; to A. C. Oats for work in Court House $9.85; to A. G. Dake for blank case for Judge of Probate table $23.00; to C. H. Chandler of Montgomery for chairs $53.00; total $118.22.
W. H. Foshee — $14.00	It is ordered by the Court that W. H. Foshee be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Fourteen Dollars for work done on the Dixie Bridge.
W. H. Burton — $8.40	It is ordered by the Court that W. H. Burton be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Eight 40/100 Dollars for fence around Jail.

W. H. Burton — $7.60	It is ordered by the Court that W. H. Burton be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Seven & 60/100 Dollars for feeding a child of Charlotte Baker for 38 days at 20 cents per day.
H. J. Callen — $75.80	It is ordered by the Court that H. J. Callen Judge of Probate be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Seventy five & 80/100 Dollars for Ex-officio & Road service, 4th quarter 1883, and for wood furnished for office and posts for public roads.
W. H. Foshee — $50.00	It is ordered by the Court that W. H. Foshee, Clerk of the Circuit Court, be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Fifty Dollars for Ex-officio service, 4th quarter 1883.
J. S. Edwards — $2.00	It is ordered by the Court that J. S. Edwards be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Two Dollars for writing contract for the letting of the paupers.
Dr. W. E. Stewart — $9.00	It is ordered by the Court that W. E. Stewart be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Seven & 50/100 Dollars for medical services rendered the County up to Nov. 1883 and for One Dollar & 50/100 for lock purchased for use of his office as register in Chancery.
James M. Corderie — $100.00	Whereas James M. Corderie has been appointed overseer of the poor of said County and has contracted with the Court for the keeping of the paupers of said County; and whereas it is deemed expedient that suitable accommodations should immediately be provided for all persons who shall be admitted to the keeping of said James M. Corderie as overseer as aforesaid. It is therefore ordered by the Court that for the purposes aforesaid there shall be and there is appropriated out of any funds in the County Treasury the sum of One Hundred Dollars. It is further ordered by the Court that the Judge of Probate is hereby authorized to draw a warrant on the County Treasurer in favor of James M. Corderie for said sum of One hundred Dollars [continued on Page 167].

James M. Corderie — continued	to be deducted out of the first moneys due the said James M. Corderie for the keeping of the paupers as aforesaid. It is ordered by the Court that James M. Corderie be and he is hereby allowed to let or sublet any person who shall be admitted to his keeping as a pauper or indigent insane person to any other person, subject to the approval of the Court of County Commissioners.
K. Wells, R. C. Lenoir, J. J. Honeycutt — $3.60 each	It is ordered by the Court that K. Wells, R. C. Lenoir and J. J. Honeycutt be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Three 60/100 Dollars for one day’s service and mileage as members of the Commissioners Court, Nov. Term 1883.
B. Harris — $4.80	It is ordered by the Court that B. Harris be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Four & 80/100 Dollars for one day’s service and mileage as member of the Court of County Commissioners, Nov. Term 1883.
H. J. Callen — $6.00	It is ordered by the Court that H. J. Callen be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Six Dollars for presiding over the Commissioners Court and keeping the minutes Nov. Term 1883.
M. D. Brown & Co. — $25.15	It is ordered by the Court that M. D. Brown & Co. be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Twenty five & 15/100 Dollars for stationery furnished County officers.
Holt & Crawford — $5.25	It is ordered by the Court that Holt & Crawford be and they are hereby allowed their warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Five & 25/100 Dollars for inks furnished for use of County officers.
W. H. Lawrence — $9.50	It is ordered by the Court that W. H. Lawrence be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Nine & 50/100 Dollars for one years subscription to the Chilton View for use of Judge of Probate, Clerk & Register in Chancery and publishing treasurer’s report.

$4.20	It is ordered by the Court that Mary Marsh be and she is hereby allowed her warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Four & 20/100 Dollars for feeding a jury one meal at the Fall term of the Circuit Court of said County 1883.
Change ordered in the Clanton and Randolph Road	Whereas at the last term of this Court an order was made and entered in the premises appointing Joel Barnett, B. H. Deavenport, B. T. Rasberry, Madison Rasberry, Ben Rasberry, M. C. Palmer and James Rasberry a Jury of View to view and mark out a change in the Clanton and Randolph Road. And whereas at the present term of this Court said Jury of View have in accordance with said order made their report in writing, setting forth among other things that they have viewed and marked out said proposed change as follows: beginning near the bridge close to James Rasberry’s and running thence by D. H. Deavenports, Busbys Mills and intersecting the old road at Madison Rasberry’s. It is therefore ordered that said Clanton and Randolph Road be changed in accordance with the report of said Jury of View. It is further ordered that the present overseer on said road be required to open said road in accordance with said change.
J. W. G. Kicker, road apportioner	Whereas it has been made known to the Court that one of the apportioners of Beat No. 5 has removed from the County, to wit: W. R. Scott, thereby creating a vacancy. It is therefore ordered by the Court that J. W. G. Kicker be and he is hereby appointed apportioner of public roads in said Beat No. 5 to fill the said unexpired term.
To establish a public road called Providence and County Line Road	Whereas application having been made to the Court for an order to establish a public road leading from Providence Church to the County line in Beat No. 2 of said County, and it appearing to the Court that due and legal notice has been given as required by law, and that said proposed new road lies within the limits of said County [continued on Page 169].

Providence and County Line Road — continued	It is therefore ordered by the Court that Eli Lucas, John M. Strong, S. A. Curry, J. W. Duke, O. C. McGraw, A. Rachells and B. M. Gentry be and they are hereby appointed a Jury of View to view and mark out said proposed road and report their action in the premises to the next term of this Court.
Change in the Calera Road	Whereas application in writing having been made to the Court for a change in the Calera Road, and it having been made known to the Court that due and legal notice has been given in all respects of said proposed application. It is therefore ordered by the Court that John Campbell, E. W. Honeycutt, Thomas Dominy, H. Callaway, Marion Glasscock, George Collum be and they are hereby appointed a Jury of View to view and mark out said proposed change and report their action in the premises to the next term of this Court. Said change proposed is to turn off between Marion Glasses and W. H. Conways running to the left of T. J. Domingo and intersecting the road again near John Campbell’s.
Overseers on Kincheon Road	It is ordered by the Court that Cyrus Culp be appointed overseer from Campground Road on the Kincheon Road to Old Montevallo Road; David Kemp from Old Montevallo Road on said road to Kincheon, to open up the same and keep in repair until their successors are appointed.
Dr. W. E. Stewart, physician for County	It is ordered by the Court that Dr. W. E. Stewart be and he is hereby appointed physician for the County, whose duty shall be to do Jail, & poor house practice and examine insane persons and to furnish medicines, for which services he is to receive the sum of one hundred Dollars. This appointment is to extend until the Regular Commissioners Court in November A.D. 1884.
James E. Lowe — $92.50	It is ordered by the Court that James E. Lowe be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasurer for the sum of Ninety two & 50/100 Dollars for Ex-officio & Road service 4th quarter 1883 $72.50, six days attendance in Circuit Court $12.00, four days attendance in Chancery Court $4.00, two days attendance in County Court $4.00, Sept & Oct terms.

George H. Rogers — $17.25	It is ordered by the Court that George H. Rogers be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Seventeen & 25/100 Dollars for stationery furnished for the use of County officers.
H. J. Callen — $9.90	It is ordered by the Court that H. J. Callen be and he is hereby allowed his warrant on the County Treasury for the sum of Nine 90/100 Dollars for monies paid out for painting, for lock for office and for wood and work done around the Court House, hauling safe and wood hauled by McNorris.
